UGC Finder is a directory that helps brands and game developers find content creators. This page explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how to have it removed.
Information about you, if you have an account
- Your email address and a scrambled (hashed) version of your password. We never store your password itself.
- The creators you save, and your settings such as color theme.
- Short-lived records of sign-in attempts, to block password guessing. These are deleted after a few days.
- Two cookies: one keeps you signed in, one remembers your color theme. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.
We use this information only to run your account. We don't sell it or share it with advertisers.
Information about creators listed in the directory
UGC Finder uses YouTube API Services to read public channel information: channel name, description, profile picture, country, subscriber count, and the titles and view counts of recent public videos. We also show the links and business email address that a creator has published in their own channel description, so brands can reach them. We don't look for contact details anywhere else.
YouTube data is refreshed regularly, and anything that hasn't been refreshed within 30 days is deleted. Median views, engagement and growth figures are calculated by UGC Finder from public video statistics; they are not provided by YouTube.
Google's handling of data is described in the Google Privacy Policy. Use of YouTube data is also subject to the YouTube Terms of Service. UGC Finder doesn't ask creators to sign in with Google; if you ever give an app access to your Google account, you can remove it in your Google security settings.
AI-written emails
When you press "Personalise with AI" on a creator page, that creator's public channel details (name, description, topics and recent video titles) and the product details you entered in Settings are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to write the draft. Nothing is sent unless you press the button. Drafts are shown to you only and are not stored by UGC Finder.
If your channel is listed
- Claim your profile to add a business email and a short pitch. Once you add your own email, it replaces the one from your channel description.
- Remove your profile at any time. We delete it and won't add your channel again. Requests are handled within 30 days, usually much sooner.
- Both are on the "Is this you?" link at the bottom of every creator page.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you. Account holders can change their details in Settings. For anything else, contact us through [email protected]. If you're in Canada, you may also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada; in the EU or UK, your local data protection authority.
Where data is stored
Our database is hosted by a cloud provider in the United States. Account and directory data is kept while the account or listing exists, and YouTube data for at most 30 days without a refresh.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. Important changes will be announced on the site.
